Sorry! It has been crazy busy here lately with things that are just NOT that interesting. Thus, nothing to BLOG about. I did win the "Worst Mom of the Year" award again (I'm a repeat champion) for not bringing my camera to the first Tball practice for Magoo today. Why God didn't give women 8 arms is still a mystery to me! If I would have had a few extra sets today I could've taken pictures while wrangling Pookins, keeping Magoo hydrated and holding his hand to run the bases at the ball field!
And to think I'm signing Pookins up for flag football on Monday...what am I, a glutton for punishment?! The kid just started Taekwondo 3 weeks ago too; and school starts in 2 weeks!! Good grief all these things are just happening too fast!
DevilDoc is off playing war games (aka RIMPAC) 'til the end of the month so it's just me and the boys. We miss him already and each morning Pookins and Magoo ask if daddy is coming home today. Guess I need to make a calendar to put up on their wall so we can mark off the days!

July brings a new addition to our family....
and my allbluezoo becomes "bluer"! I made that up. We became the new "people" for a gorgeous beagle mix pup this month! His name is Scooby (big surprise for those of you who know Pookins!) I wanted to call him Indiana and was out-voted :( Here's a picture of our new little guy

ain't he cute? We installed a doggie door into our sliding patio door...OMG it is hysterical to see him try to get his hiney through that thing! Makes me have to pee just thinking about it I laugh so hard!
For the 4th of July we hosted a BBQ at our house; you know the kind that your spouse tells you about the day before you are hosting it?! Yeah, that one! Anyway, it was successful, there was much food, drink and fun. The kids were in and out of the pool ALL afternoon and later in the evening the adults had a round of "Scene It!" DVD game.
The "little 'uns" doing ROUND 1 tequila shots

ALERT: Danielle, I hope it is okay to put this picture of your daughter up...you can't see her face. I just love this picture for some reason; the ribbons with askew pigtails and that red hair!

My friend Katie (Pass the Chopsticks) moved to Japan about a month ago and her husband Bob is in town for work and came over to celebrate the 4OJ with us; L-R Bob, me and DevilDoc.

When Magoo wasn't in the pool he was eating something. This is one of those cupcakes from Costco...the ones as big as an infant's head with enough icing to turn a normal sized person hyperglycemic! I usually have to cut them in fourths because I just CANNOT eat a whole one in a sitting; they are GINORMOUS (another made up word?)

Our friend Danielle brought her teacup Chihuahua "Tinkerbell" over. OMG, you have never seen a dog so small! Pookins was carrying her around inside his shirt with her little head poking out between the buttons, DevilDoc put her in the cargo pocket of his shorts...heck, Danielle brought inside a little tiny Dooney & Bourke purse! I just couldn't resist this picture; Bob was the only one wearing a shirt with a pocket :)

And of course, saving the best for last. I went up to our catwalk to take a picture of the "Scene It!" action and got this shot. Let me say, I DID NOT know that Angela (far right side) was just inside the frame passed out on the floor, LOL! But, it is a true testament to our day...the kids are all still playing while the adults are on the downswing!

I hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July. Thank you to all the men and women who serve or HAVE served our country. Special thoughts for DevilDocs brother-in-law; he is serving his FIFTH tour in Iraq ~ God bless! And I would never leave out the military spouse. Thank you to ALL the military spouses out there who keep the home fires burning so that our active duty service members can concentrate on the mission at hand. A special thank you to "MY" military dependent friends; you are like family to me - we are here to support each other and I think we do it in a most FIERCE way! Mahalo nui loa!

All right, where did I leave off?
Oh yeah, I got home from Vegas and we went to see Missing Dave! The next day I had BUNCO with a group of girls (all military wives/girlfriends, fiancees, etc.) here on O'ahu. This was our 3rd month, right?! I think so. Anyway, we have a blast, eat too much and throw in a little gossip along the way ;)
I couldn't get a whole group shot because I had the wrong lens on my camera, so here is my favorite picture from the evening..I'm sure Mrs. Parms in Paradise is very happy with me, LOL!

I think that was pretty much it for the weekend!

Missing Dave
.....to be continued.......
The dollars and cents of it...
I know it is cliche but it seemingly fits in this situation:
Roundtrip flight Honolulu/Las Vegas - 25000FF miles + $500
Money lost gambling in Las Vegas - $1000
Changing plane ticket to stay longer in Las Vegas - $125
Spending quality time with my mom and see The View LIVE - PRICELESS
Thank you mom, for all that you are and all that you do...I really needed that trip, thanks for being my travel buddy. I love you!

Day 3..or day 2 in Vegas? They all ran together!
While I am patiently waiting for my very loving mother to send me the pictures from Vegas that she took, I will finish up the story without some images. Begrudgingly of course. We were able to obtain the delightful treats from In N Out via a VERY generous cab drive whose name escapes me right now. He is from Egypt, has family in Missouri and can read Arabic. He also killed the meter in the cab while we sat idly in the drive thru waiting to order in exchange for us feeding him lunch! I think we all came out even on the deal :)
He dropped us back at New York New York and let me tell ya, I was not impressed. It was soooooo small I nearly had an anxiety attack at one point! Not good. ALERT: MOM SENT THE PICTURES!!!

We left pretty quick and crossed the street to check out the M&M World store in hopes I could find SOMETHING wholesome and lacking sin in Las Vegas.

I thought it would be cute to have my mom take her picture with an M&M and give it to the boys when I got back, LOL!

It wasn't one of her favorite things to do, but she did it for her babies!
We trudged on down one side of the strip, popping into Paris, Harrah's and some dive place I don't remember the name of. I managed to get some of my money back eventually! We got on the DEUCE (double decker bus) and it took us back into downtown so we could get to the hotel. We were both starving so we had breakfast in the only open restaurant at the casino and went to bed at....5am! 24hours we had been up and gone! Good grief, I haven't done that since college I think?!
We slept like bears in hibernation. We slept so well that we darn near missed our spa appointment. The spa appointment that was set at 3pm! Yes, that is right, I woke up at 2:58p and yelled "SHIT, we missed our spa appointment!" Mom jumped up and started to put clothes on telling me to call the spa and tell them we were on our way. We were a fiasco to say the least! The treatments were wonderful and I would reccommend their spa services over and over!
I changed my flight to arrive back in Honolulu later b/c I wanted to spend more time with my mom. We gambled together all night; sharing seats at the same card tables and wandering the slot area having the pick of where we wanted to sit. I eventually headed up to the room to get my bags all packed up. We headed off to our last breakfast buffet and then I waited for the airport shuttle to pick me up. I slept all the way home on the airplane.
I was so excited to see my babies at the airport, I missed them sooooo much. They missed me too apparently. DevilDoc doens't quite do things the way I do them :) He was told many times that "mommy always has snacks for after swim lessons", "mommy doesn't let us eat waffles 2 times in a row", "we always have a cheese stick while mommy is making lunch". So, it is good to know that they appreciate the things I do, or at least they remember them! And God bless DevilDoc for trying...he did a pretty good job, not sure how he'd a done w/o the "honey do" list I left for him though?!
